Wilbraham, Hampden, East Longmeadow (#276 - 278)
Who is that in the Friendly’s sign off the Mass pike? Isn’t there a fence? We needed this picture for Wilbraham (#278) It’s all we could think of. Google maps helped us identify a path to the sign that didn’t involve hopping a fence or going through a no trespassing sign. Check the comments for a few more pics of how we got there!
We were able to visit Hampden (#277) and hike up to Goat Rock. Named in the 1700’s for some goats who wandered up here and got stuck. View was great!
Quarries in East Longmeadow (#276) quarried the redstone for the Smithsonian, Trinity Church in Boston and their Town Hall (in this picture). It was featured on Ripleys Believe It or Not for this Rotary. It has 7 different streets coming into the intersection. Made for an interesting walk with lots of crosswalks!
